Time seems to go by really quickly, and at the end of each week, we have done a lot!
We started off our week working with the letter "g". The objects the children bring in for the Alphabet Corner help us with practising the sound "g" makes. Unusual objects this week included a guinea fowl, a green goblin and a green glow stick. We also had more usual objects : googles, glasses, goat, giraffe, game, green, grapes, glue, girl and a ghost. The children practised writing these words on the ipads. They are really getting the hang of it!
During the Swedish lessons, a story was read and words not commonly used in the spoken language were discussed. Later, the children worked with words beginning with the letter "g" in Swedish.
We had math games this week. Not only are the children learning the rules of different games, they are working with mathematical reasoning and using different strategies while having fun. Doesn't it show??
The children have also been working in math workbooks with number concepts and identification.
With the "Me" book, the children discussed feelings and how feelings are reflected in your expressions. They drew 10 faces with 10 different expressions. Here is an example!
The whole school has practiced our first fire drill this term. It was a little daunting for some children but in general it went well. It is extremely important to know the procedure to follow in case of emergency. This is an opportunity to remind you that your child needs indoor shoes, both for safety reasons and for health issues.
After our warm up in gym, we played tag in different ways. There was a lot of running around and sweating. It was fun!
